Ready, set, go!

I don't know about you, but my mind is turning on the energy saving mode. Despite the million things that still need to be done by the end of this year. It's kind of waiting that new beginning, the fresh start, like an athlete that's looking in the direction of the final point, touching the ground with his fingers, waiting for the final "go!". Determined to make it, to really make it this time.
Ready, set, go!

Speaking about sunshine...

Speaking about sunshine... It is also soft December light. It's a yellow beret, it's the smiley face on my ring that reflects the smile on my face. It's the light in my mirror sunglasses, the reflection of what my eyes are seeing. It's a yellow skirt that reminds me of Florence, it's a walk through my neighbourhood. Sunshine is an ordinary Saturday that becomes special because every day deserves to be special. I am the sunshine. You are the sunshine.

Piece of sunshine by Zaful

Although I love black/neutral clothes like in my previous post, I enjoy wearing happy colors, especially yellow. It's an easy way to put a bit of sunshine in your day, even when the weather does exactly the opposite. It's been proven that colors that surround us, do affect our humor, energy level etc. So why not take the advantage?
I wanted to show you my very own piece of sunshine, this faux leather jacket from Zaful that soaked up all the sunshine it could get. I don't like this jacket, I love it and honestly, I've been wearing it almost every day since I've got it. I like everything about it, the color, the fit, the material and especially how it makes me feel while I'm wearing it. I normally wear S or M size, but I ordered the jacket in L because otherwise it would have been too fitted and cropped for my taste. The jacket is on the sale right now and you can find it HERE.

Sweatshirt chic

Comfort and softness of a sweatshirt. Although the root of the word is "sweat", nowadays it hardly has to do anything with the actual sweating. It's not even  strictly reserved for "no makeup - I forgot to brush my hair - don't care how I look- nobody can see me - lounging at home" look. Nope. We've seen these babies everywhere. If you're a big fan of sporty-chic outfits like me, sweatshirts can be also a great base for that type of looks. You can find mine HERE. Do you like sweatshirts?

Zumba

I've always been a fan of healthy and active lifestyle and working out has been beneficial for me in so many different ways. Although I enjoy this "important meeting with myself", let's be honest - moving my body is sometimes the last thing I wanna do. By the time I've realized that there is one simple thing that can make all the difference and that makes me jump from the sofa right way. That would be cute workout clothes. Something that I really like and feel like wearing.
So, yes, I'm talking about my new top from Zumba Wear, the official sports clothing line of Zumba, a very well known workout discipline that mixes dance and aerobic moves accompanied with energetic music. The top has a cute, colorful, happy print  and the softest texture that keeps you warm enough now when it's colder, but it feels fresh once your body starts heating. Besides, it's something that can be worn with other type of clothes as well. I've always been a huge fan of Zumba's sportswear and of Zumba concept in general. I just love the positive energy that is spreads and therefore my recommendation in collaboration with Zumba is totally transparent and honest.
If you're looking for cute workout clothes and you're willing to leave behind the typical excuses such as "I don't have time for working out", here is a voucher code with a discount that you can use during next 3 months: ZUMB-EU10-XSG7-CA5A.

Autumn in Madrid

Although I enjoy wandering through the streets and corners of Madrid, a visit to this city wouldn't be complete without going to Retiro Park, a place very dear to my heart and the location that played a huge role in my life. Sunny autumn morning only made the visit more magical. Just look at all those colors! You could spend an entire day in this park while discovering numerous paths, all kinds of trees, ponds, gardens, statutes and fountains of these "lungs of Madrid", until you end up at Crystal Palace (Palacio de Cristal), one of my favorite spots in the city. It was made of glass and iron and built in 1887 to exhibit flora and fauna from the Philippines, a former Spanish colony. Impressive, huh?
Goodbye, Madrid! Hope to see you very soon again! :)

¡Hola Madrid!

Should I say that I visited Madrid probably over 20 times in my life or that I lived there from time to time, although I never had my name written on a specific Madrid address? I don't know. I just can tell you that the Spanish capital has played a huge role in my life and those stories I'd rather save for a book that I might or might not write one day because this girl likes to write. Yes, she does. But you know that. Or maybe we can chit-chat in a cozy cafe, here in Barcelona or somewhere else in the world and I could tell you why there is "a before" and "an after Madrid" in my life timeline? Time will tell...
Well, here are the pictures that we took before our friends joined us in this quick little getaway. You'll see the Royal Palace (Palacio Real), we'll watch the sunset at the Temple of Debod, a real Egyptian temple in the heart of Madrid and probably our favorite spot in the city. We'll spend the evening in Gran Via, the most famous avenue of this Spanish beauty that always reminds me of New York and how much I love busy, cosmopolitan, city life and vibe, as much as I like escaping to the nature. Have you been in Madrid? Stay tuned for part 2 and 3.

From Andorra with love

Andorra. You already know how much I love you. You wake up my inner Heidi, you make me twirl the fringes of my poncho like a modern Pocahontas, you make me feel carefree like Maria from The Sound Of Music. Heidi and Maria were attached to the Alps in the same way that I've been attaching myself to the Pyrenees, and I'm so grateful for having them near and  for this possibility of changing the busy city and the sea for the mountain peaks and valleys. This type of nature resets me, restarts me, it calms me down, it gives me euphoria, it motivates me, it speaks right to my heart. Andorra is one of those places that you never ever want to leave, yet you want to, because it gives you that extra kick of energy that makes you so damn excited about your own life and even the dullest routine and problems that you know you're gonna solve. Until next time, Andorra! :)

Soufeel jewelry - Express yourself

Living in the world of massive production where the uniqueness and individuality are often masked, where we do the same things, wear the same clothes, buy the same things doesn't open a lot of space for being who we really are. Well, I'm trying to be 100% me and to express my (life)style through fashion and jewelry in this case. Once again, I had an opportunity to work with Soufeel, a famous American online jewelry brand specialized in charm bracelets and personalized jewelry made of 925 sterling silver, with high quality and low prices.
So I present you my new charm bracelet with 3 charms: an airplane, a camera and heart shaped photo of me and Ulises. Those 3 charms not only represent me, but also our relationship and our never ending desire for traveling and of course, photography, which is a huge part of our lives.
However, my favorite item from this Soufeel package was a personalized necklace with my name on it, also made of sterling silver. I've been wanting a necklace like that for as long as I can remember, but it's been always way too expensive for my taste. Now I finally have it and I couldn't be happier with it. Quality, beautiful design, durability, uniqueness, versatility. Nice way to show who you really are and express yourself.
If you decide to buy something at Soufeel, there is a free shipping for orders over 59 euros, 365 days return and exchange service. If you spend more than 60 euros, you can use a 5% coupon code - BLOG5.

Andorra: Hike to the hidden lakes

The feeling of being in the right place at the right time while I'm sitting on a 2300 m high rock. I'm looking at 3 lakes called Tristaina, perfectly hidden and waiting to be seen only by few. Mountains make me calm, mountains are telling me that everything's gonna be alright. I trust them. Besides, aren't those hidden lakes the proof that difficult roads do lead to the most beautiful destinations?
We're somewhere between Spain and France, in Andorra, a perfect tiny, little country and one of my favorite places in the world. I'm back where I'm happy. I'm back where I'm free. Beautiful, sunny and surprisingly warm day, magnificent mountains and waste space, still yellow but soon to be covered by snow. Fresh air, the most perfect saturated autumn colors, cows and wild horses, that special feeling of calm mixing with the adventurous spirit of mine that I cannot ever satisfy for very long time...

To be continued...

Blanes, Spain - Botanical gardens

11 000 different plant species from 5 continents carefully planted on the hill overlooking Blanes, a little coastal town that you could see in my previous post - here. Botanical gardens of Marimurtra and Pinya de Rosa. Unexpected surprise, something like a real life enchanted garden, almost a century old, founded by German botanist, Karl Faust, and built with the views over the Mediterranean sea. All kinds of plants, from giant cacti to flowers that smell better than any perfume led us all the way to my favorite spot of this weekend trip, Linneaus temple, dedicated to this famous Swedish botanist. So, shall we go for a walk? :)

Blanes, Spain - Getaway to Costa Brava

It was raining cats and dogs. Too blurred train window only let me see a hint of palm trees dancing with the wind, while the gloomy sky and sea were blending in the most greyish shades of blue. The train was about to arrive in any minute and the rain was about to complicate our weekend getaway. When the train stopped, rain did the same and we were welcomed by the most fantastic and unreal shades of blue. The 4 km long sandy beach was almost empty and we already knew that tomorrow we would check out the hill that you could see from each point. Then the rain began again and we ended up in the coziest, most charming cafe. Welcome to this little coastal town near Barcelona, also known as the getaway to Costa Brava. Welcome to Blanes.

Spring state of mind

Long sleeves, bare legs. Yes, please. Another benefit of this Mediterranean climate. Black flirting with red. Aren't they meant to be? Flowers because why would you wait for spring? Spring is a state of mind and those who have it won't be bothered by a trivial thing such as grey, cold days that are slowly but patiently knocking on our doors...

31

Two days ago I turned 31. I'm saying it because I don't understand people who hide their age. As if it was something bad. There is no wrong age or right age. There is no wrong number. Does it really matter if you're 31 like me, 14, 88, or whatever is the age you have today? You're just supposed to make the best of every moment, to learn, to become a better person with every new year you make and enjoy the process, right? You're as young or old as you make it. It has nothing to do with the age.

Pyrenees mountains: Adrenaline, Formigal, La Vuelta

The second and last day of our little escape in the mountains ended at Formigal, one of the most famous ski resorts in the Pyrenees. Adrenaline mixed with mountain oxygen pumped every vein of my body while the chairlift was taking us to one of the picks. It's something I hadn't done since I was 9 years old and although I don't have problem with the altitude, there is something scary yet so inviting when you feel almost like a bird. The day ended with one of the finales of the famous bicycle race of La Vuelta where all the people gathered up to cheer and support famous racers such as Spaniard Alberto Contador and this year's winner from Colombia, Nairo Quintana. It was another day that I'll definitely remember forever :)
